Hyderabad: Burglars broke into a house at Alwal and decamped with 29 tolas of gold jewellery and Rs.1.5 lakh in cash.
The family of a businessman had locked the house and went to attend a function when the incident occurred. The burglary came to light late on Saturday night when the family returned home after attending a family function at Dammaiguda.
On reaching home around midnight, they found that burglars had broken into the house and stolen the valuables.
The shocked family immediately alerted the police. Based on a complaint made by the victims, Alwal police registered a case and started an investigation.
The police are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify the suspects and trace their movements.
