A dispute over a delayed biryani order at a restaurant in Hyderabad’s Vanasthalipuram area allegedly escalated into a clash between customers and staff. A car left at the spot by one of the customers was later found engulfed in flames.

Hyderabad: A dispute over a delay in serving biryani escalated into a clash, with a car parked outside a restaurant allegedly set on fire at Hastinapuram Crossroads in Vanasthalipuram on Wednesday.

According to police, Tumati Mahender Yadav (26), a dairy farmer from Pocharam village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal of Rangareddy district, visited Grill Mandi with five friends. After waiting for a long time for their biryani order, his friends argued with the restaurant staff, triggering a clash.


Later, Mahender and his friends left their car there and went away. When they returned, they found the vehicle engulfed in flames.

The Vanasthalipuram police are investigating.
