TGSRTC to pick up Dasara travellers from residential colonies, hostels

Hyderabad: Planning to head home for Dasara? This year, the journey could begin right outside your colony or hostel instead of at a crowded bus depot.

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is offering special bus services from residential colonies, gated communities, townships, hostels and colleges across Hyderabad for groups of 30 or more passengers travelling together.

The initiative is aimed at making festival travel more convenient, particularly during the rush surrounding Dasara, when thousands of students, employees and families leave the city for their hometowns.

Under the arrangement, groups can approach the concerned TGSRTC officials and request a special bus from their locality. If sufficient demand is received, the corporation will operate the service from the residential area itself, allowing passengers to avoid the hassle of reaching a major bus station with luggage.

The facility is particularly useful for large gated communities and townships, where several families may be travelling to the same region during the holidays.

The TGSRTC has also extended the facility to students staying in hostels and colleges. Groups of students planning to return to their native places for the Dasara holidays can seek dedicated buses from their campus or hostel areas.

Special services will be arranged based on demand from different localities.
