Burglary bid at South Indian Bank branch in Medchal ends in failure

Unidentified miscreants attempted to burgle a South Indian Bank branch in Edulabad, Medchal, by breaking a window and drilling a hole through the rear wall near the strong room. However, they failed to gain access and fled empty-handed.

Burglary bid at South Indian Bank branch in Medchal ends in failure

Hyderabad: Unidentified miscreants made a futile attempt to burgle a South Indian Bank branch at Edulabad in Medchal.

The miscreants allegedly broke open a window of the bank and drilled a hole through the rear wall near the strong room in an attempt to gain entry. However, they failed to break into the strong room and fled without stealing any cash or valuables.


The bank staff who arrived to open the branch noticed the broken window and, on inspecting the premises, found the hole in the rear wall. They alerted the bank authorities and the Ghatkesar police.

Based on a complaint lodged by bank manager Ranjith, police registered a case and launched an investigation. A Clues Team examined the scene and collected fingerprints and other material evidence.

Police are examining CCTV footage from the bank and surrounding areas to identify the suspects. Special teams have also been deployed to trace those involved in the failed burglary attempt.
