Brilliant Trophy chess tournament to be held in Hyderabad on October 10-11

Brilliant Chess Academy will host the 245th Brilliant Trophy Chess Tournament on October 10 and 11 at Brilliant Grammar High School, Dilsukhnagar, with Rs 10,000 in prize money. A separate open rapid tournament will be held at A2H Chess Academy on October 10

Hyderabad: Brilliant Chess Academy will organise the 245th Brilliant Trophy Chess Tournament on October 10 and 11 at Brilliant Grammar High School, Dilsukhnagar, with a total prize money of Rs 10,000.

Special prizes will be awarded to the top two finishers in the Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15 age groups in the junior category.

Players must register their names at the venue before 1 pm on Saturday, October 10.

Rapid chess tournament

A2H Chess Academy will organise an open prize-money rapid chess tournament at its Kukatpally facility on October 10, with a total prize money of Rs 15,000.

A total of six rounds will be conducted in the Swiss League format. The latest FIDE rules will be applicable. Each round will have a 40-minute time control, with each player having a base time of 15 minutes and a five-second increment per move.

There is no age limit for the event, which is open to all players, including rated, unrated and new players.
