Parul University has made its debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, securing a place in the 1,601-1,800 global band.
The university said the ranking makes it the only university from Gujarat to feature in the THE World University Rankings 2027, giving the state a presence on a major global higher education platform.
Parul University had earlier made its global debut in the THE Impact Rankings 2025, where it was placed in the 1,001-1,500 global band and among the top 50 institutions in India. The Impact Rankings assess universities’ contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), covering areas such as education, health, gender equality and partnerships.
The university subsequently featured in the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, securing a place in the 401-600 global band and among the top 40 institutions in India.
According to the university, it secured 46th place globally and seventh in India under SDG 4 (Quality Education), placing it among the global top 50. Under SDG 5 (Gender Equality), it was ranked 60th globally and sixth in India, placing it in the global top 100.
It was also placed in the 101-200 global band and among the top 10 institutions in India under SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being). Under SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), the university made its debut in the 401-600 global band and among the top 50 institutions in India.
Under SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), Parul University moved into the 201-300 global band and the top 20 in India, which the university attributed to its growing academic, industry, research and community partnerships.
The university said its progression from the THE Impact Rankings 2025 to the Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 and now the World University Rankings 2027 reflects its expanding international profile across different aspects of higher education.
Commenting on the ranking, Parul University Vice-President Dr Geetika Madan Patel said the debut was a significant milestone for the university and Gujarat.
“Through our experience with the THE Impact Rankings and Sustainability Impact Ratings, we have gained a greater awareness of what it means to create measurable academic and societal impact. To be ranked in the world university rankings is another step on that journey,” she said.
Patel said the university remained committed to strengthening its global recognition through academic and societal contributions over the long term.
With its maiden entry in the THE World University Rankings, the university said it would focus on expanding global engagement, research and academic collaborations, international visibility and institutional growth.
