Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation’s engineering and town planning departments removed 265 encroachments along 14.47 km of roads across 16 circles as part of the ongoing Walk-Free Drive, aimed at improving pedestrian movement, road accessibility and the usability of public roads.

Officials said 97 encroachments were removed along 6.57 km of roads in the Serilingampally Zone. These included 32 in Serilingampally, 26 in Patancheru, 16 in Narsingi, 15 in Miyapur and eight in Ameenpur.


In the Kukatpally Zone, officials removed 76 footpath encroachments along 2.80 km of roads. These comprised 30 encroachments in Moosapet, 20 in Madhapur, 14 in Allwyn Colony and 12 in Kukatpally.

CMC officials cleared 92 encroachments along 5.10 km of roads in the Quthbullapur Zone. These included 22 in Gajularamaram, 16 in Chintal, 14 each in Jeedimetla and Nizampet, 12 in Dundigal, and seven each in Kompally and Medchal.

CMC Commissioner G Srijana said all identified encroachments on the covered stretches had been cleared. The corporation will conduct regular follow-up inspections to keep roads free of encroachments and prevent their recurrence.
