Tirupati: A Hyderabad-based devotee on Friday donated Rs 1.02 crore to the SV Pranadana Trust, run by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which provides free medical treatment to economically disadvantaged patients.

N Ashok Kumar donated the amount to the trust and handed over the cheque to TTD chairman BR Naidu at its camp office in Hyderabad, a press release said.


“Kumar donated Rs 1.02 crore to the SV Pranadana Trust. He handed over the donation to TTD chairman BR Naidu at the TTD camp office in Hyderabad,” it said.

Established in November 2001, the Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust aims to provide free medical treatment to patients from economically weaker sections suffering from serious and life-threatening ailments, including heart, kidney and brain diseases and cancer.

TTD is the official custodian of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati, a major Hindu pilgrimage centre.
