Hyderabad: The Task Force (Rajendranagar Zone), in coordination with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), conducted raids at three shops and seized unauthorised cosmetic products suspected to have been imported from Pakistan, valued at around Rs 7 lakh, on Wednesday.
The raids were carried out at Beauty Ladies Emporium, Beauty Queen Shop and SJ Medical Shop, following credible information about the illegal sale and distribution of the products.
The action comes amid a CDSCO alert over unauthorised Pakistan-made whitening creams found to contain excessive heavy metals.
India has also prohibited the import of goods originating in or exported from Pakistan.
