Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy used his visit to Sircilla to launch a fresh attack on BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao and his family, alleging accumulation of vast wealth and ownership of properties in India and abroad.

Sircilla: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy turned his Sircilla visit into a political platform to target BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and his family, while seeking votes for the Congress in the next Assembly election. His address was dominated by renewed allegations about the family’s wealth, without offering any concrete measures to provide relief to weavers and farmers.
At the public meeting in Sircilla on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy accused the K Chandrashekhar Rao family of accumulating thousands of crores of rupees by converting the Telangana movement and Sircilla votes into wealth. He repeated allegations about large farmhouses and properties and claimed that several star and five-star hotels around Madhapur and HITEC City were linked to them.
He also alleged that properties and land worth thousands of crores held in the names of people from Andhra Pradesh were transferred to Chandrashekhar Rao family members within six months, besides alleging investments in the United States and Singapore.
The claims were not substantiated with specific property details or documentary evidence in his speech. His demand for a white paper from the Chandrashekhar Rao family also sat uneasily with his simultaneous vow to expose the alleged illegal properties himself, failing which he would change his name.
Revanth Reddy turned the meeting into an electoral call, asking people to defeat KT Rama Rao in Sircilla and promising a ministerial berth to the party leader who succeeded in raising the Congress flag there. He also sought support for a Padmashali candidate in the Legislative Council elections.
During his visit, the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for development works worth Rs 350.78 crore including Rs 200 crore for Young India Integrated Residential School, Rs 98 crore for expansion works at the Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy temple at Vemulawada.
