Hyderabad: Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI) hosted its quarterly ‘No More Chemo Party’ for children who have completed their chemotherapy to celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Organised by the hospital’s department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology, the event brought together recovering children, families, and medical staff for a joyful day away from the hospital environment to honour children who successfully completed their chemotherapy.
Dr. Veerendra Patil, Pediatric Oncology and Hematology, said that the event was aimed at inspiring courage among young patients.
Dr. Kalpana Raghunath, Associate Director of Academics, stressed the critical need for early recognition, timely diagnosis, and specialised care alongside emotional support.
Medical Superintendent Dr. K. Phani Koteswara Rao highlighted the collective effort required from doctors, nurses, and families to support the emotional well-being of pediatric patients.
The hospital also acknowledged the dedication of caregivers and Team Saadhaka for helping make the quarterly celebrations possible. The event concluded on an inspiring note, championing the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and simply be a child, a press release from the hospital said.
