Medak: The intense sound and vibrations caused by high-power speakers during a Ganesh idol immersion procession led to the partial collapse of a house ceiling in Ramayampet town on Saturday night.
A pandal committee had hired a DJ system for the Ganesh idol immersion procession. When the procession was passing the house of Pochammala Anjaneyulu, a portion of the ceiling collapsed, with debris falling on his wife. She sustained a minor head injury.
The incident left the family and residents of the colony shocked.
Speaking about the intensity of the vibrations, Anjaneyulu said the family struggled to even stand inside the house when the speakers were playing at high volume.
He appealed to people not to use high-power sound systems during programmes, saying the vibrations could cause harm to people and damage nearby structures.
