Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao called upon aspirants for constable posts to focus on their written and physical examinations by keeping everything else aside.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the free KCR Coaching Centre for aspirants in Siddipet on Sunday, Harish Rao said he had named the coaching centre after former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as he wanted the aspirants to draw inspiration from Chandrashekhar Rao, who successfully led the 14-year-long Telangana movement.
He said Chandrashekhar Rao ensured that 95 per cent of government-sector posts were reserved for Telangana youth, besides bringing Godavari water to Siddipet through the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS). He said the BRS government had also reserved 33 per cent of the total posts in the police department for women.
He said a good number of the 370 candidates selected for the coaching were women. Suggesting that they attend classes at 9 am without missing any, the former minister called upon them to stay away from mobile phones and social media until the examination on November 29. He also advised them to focus on the physical examination in addition to the written test.
While 25,000 posts were lying vacant in the police department, the former minister said the Congress government had issued a notification for only 7,000 posts. He recalled that the BRS government had issued three notifications for 19,000, 12,000 and 10,000 posts when it was in power. Rao lashed out at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for issuing notifications for only 16,000 posts and recalled that the Congress came to power by promising to provide 2 lakh jobs within the first year.
The former minister informed the aspirants that the coaching would also be useful when they appear for national-level recruitment examinations conducted by the CRPF, BSF and other forces.
