Two devotees feared drowned during Ganesh idol immersion in Siddipet

Two devotees of Lord Ganesha drowned during idol immersion at Pedda Cheruvu in Rudraram village of Siddipet district on Saturday.

Siddipet: The devotees of Lord Ganesha were feared to have drowned in a lake at Rudraram in Akberpet-Bhumpally mandal on Saturday. 

They devotees have been identified as Ramesh (35) and Naveen (25), both residents of Rudraram. 

The residents of the village installed an idol as part of the festivities. They went in a procession to the lake for the immersion in Pedda Cheruvu lake located on the outskirts of the village. While immersing the idol, the duo drowned in the lake. Efforts are on to retrieve the bodies. 

A case has been registered.
