Suryapet: Neurosurgeon burnt alive after car crashes into divider

Hyderabad: A neurosurgeon was charred to death after the car he was travelling in went out of control and rammed into a road divider on the Suryapet-Khammam National Highway near Pillalamarri early on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Dr Kasakurthi Jagadish, a neurosurgeon at Mamata Hospital in Khammam.


According to the police, the accident occurred when the car went out of control and crashed into the divider. Following the collision, the vehicle caught fire and was engulfed in flames within a short time.

Dr Jagadish was trapped inside the car and was reportedly burnt alive. The vehicle was completely gutted in the fire.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and took up rescue and relief measures. The body was recovered from the charred vehicle, and the identity of the victim was later established.

A case was registered and an investigation was launched.
