Hyderabad: The Goshamahal Police have clarified that claims circulating on social media about the “Lee Chee Ka Raja Ganesh – 2026” idol being made of Panchaloha, weighing 48 kg, coated with 24-karat gold and studded with 3,83,800 American diamonds are false and misleading.
In a statement, police specifically rejected the claim that the idol has 24-karat gold plating and said it was not made with the materials or in the manner described in the widely circulated messages, photographs and videos.
Police further clarified that certain organisers associated with the idol were allegedly involved in publicising the claims to promote the commercial interests of Lee Chee Pearls and Jewels and allegedly obtain wrongful gain by creating a false impression about the idol.
Goshamahal Police appealed to the citizens not to believe or forward unverified information regarding the idol. They urged social media users to rely only on verified information and cooperate in preventing rumours and misleading content during the Ganesh Festival.
