New Delhi: Gold prices on Friday rose by Rs 1,309 to Rs 1,54,290 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions amid firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the gold contract for October delivery traded higher by Rs 1,309, or 0.86 per cent, at Rs 1,54,290 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 2,156 lots.
Fresh positions by market participants led to a rise in precious metal prices, analysts said.
Gold futures rose 1.16 per cent to USD 4,392.24 per ounce in New York.
