Hyderabad: BRS social media convenor Manne Krishank was arrested by police at his residence on Friday over a social media post reportedly in connection with the recent attempt to attack the staff of BRS working president KT Rama Rao. He was taken into custody and shifted to the Central Crime Station (CCS) for questioning.
A large police contingent reached Krishank’s residence around 5 AM. Upon learning about it, BRS legal cell members and party workers reached the spot, leading to heated arguments. The police reportedly claimed that they had come to serve a notice in a case against Krishank for allegedly posting objectionable content on ‘X’ about the ruckus earlier this month.
However, the BRS leaders alleged that police broke open the gates and attempted to force open the doors to arrest him without serving a notice.
In a post on X before his arrest, Krishank said police told him they had come to serve a notice and questioned the need for a large force to do so at 5 AM, as if he was a wanted criminal. He alleged that his seven-year-old daughter was frightened by the incident and could not attend her examination.
He said the case was linked to his post questioning the presence of masked personnel attempting to attack BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s staff at Saifabad police station. “We will not stop questioning,” he said.
