Jagtial: A 48-year-old Anganwadi worker was allegedly murdered by her husband in Koratla town on Wednesday morning following family disputes.
Koratla Inspector K Laxminarayana said Sadhumasula Laxmi (48), a resident of the 12th Ward on Prakasham Road, was allegedly strangled to death with a towel by 7.30 am. Her husband, Naresh, allegedly strangled her, suspecting her fidelity. She died on the spot, while Naresh fled after the crime.
According to preliminary inquiries by the police, Naresh had been quarrelling with Laxmi over her frequent use of a mobile phone. Elders from both families tried to resolve the issue, but in vain. The couple had been living separately due to the disputes. However, Naresh persuaded her to return home a week ago, promising not to harass her. He allegedly killed her while nursing a grudge against her.
Laxmi’s son, Harinath, lodged a complaint with the police. A murder case has been registered against Naresh. Investigations are under way.
