Adilabad: Theft case accused escapes from RIMS, arrested next day

An accused in a theft case escaped from RIMS in Adilabad on Tuesday while undergoing treatment under judicial custody, allegedly by deceiving his two escorts. Jail officials said he was traced and arrested the following morning.

Adilabad: Theft case accused escapes from RIMS, arrested next day

Adilabad: An accused person in a theft case from Indervelli who was lodged in a jail under judicial remand, managed to escape on Tuesday by hoodwinking the escorts while undergoing treatment at RIMS here. However, he was traced and arrested on Wednesday.

Jail officials said that Ade Anil, who was housed in the jail in connection with a theft case reported in Indervelli mandal on August 29, had been admitted to RIMS for a mental ailment. He managed to slip away by deceiving his two escorts. He was nabbed the following morning.


Anil was earlier arrested on charges of duping an elderly woman of Rs 2,000 under the pretext of giving pension of Rs 4,000. He was sent to a 14-day judicial remand and lodged in Adilabad prison. He was given a bail by a court on Friday. His family members were advised to submit to sureties.
