Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly premises continued to witness protests over the state government’s delay in releasing fee reimbursement dues.
Several student organisations on Saturday attempted to enter the Assembly, demanding the release of pending fee reimbursement and scholarships, and the revocation of GO No. 97, which merges polytechnics with Young India Skills University, established under a public-private partnership. They also demanded the resolution of various student issues.
ABVP and TRSV activists raised slogans against the government as they attempted to proceed towards the Assembly. However, police intercepted them and took them into custody.
The protesters demanded immediate action on their grievances, particularly the withdrawal of GO No. 97 and clearance of pending fee reimbursement dues.
TRSV president Ramu Yadav said the government was neglecting students’ problems and warned that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would have to pay a political price for ignoring their demands.
