BRS leader T Harish Rao criticised the Telangana government over salary cuts for municipal outsourcing employees, demanding withdrawal of the orders and protection of existing pay. He said 31,000 employees and their families would face a severe financial burden.

Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao criticised the Congress government for imposing salary cuts to the outsourcing employees working in municipalities and municipal corporations across Telangana. He reminded that a majority of them, have served for 20–25 years and imposing salary cuts cannot be justified.
He demanded immediate withdrawl of orders, continuation of the employees’ existing status and protection of their salaries. He also sought priority for eligible, experienced outsourcing employees in filling regular vacancies in municipalities and corporations.
Representatives of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation Outsourcing Employees Association met Harish Rao on Saturday and submitted a representation seeking justice. He said the government’s July 12, 2026 order, G.O.Rt.No.1181, had become a curse for municipal employees by reducing their salaries under new rules.
The BRSLP deputy leader said the move would impose a severe financial burden on the families of 31,000 employees. While salaries were increased during the BRS regime, the Congress government was resorting to pay cuts, he alleged.
“Reducing employees’ salaries is not people’s governance but people’s oppression,” he said, questioning Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over the treatment of employees.
