Khammam: An eighth standard student died of suspected heart attack at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC Boys’ Residential School at Raghunadhapalem in the district on Wednesday.
The deceased student Saliganti Sathvik (14) of Kakaravai village in Tirumalayapalem mandal was said to have collapsed suddenly while engaged in sports activities early in the morning.
According to the school authorities, Sathvik fainted after finishing running; he was given first aid and was rushed to Government General Hospital in Khammam. The doctors after conducting tests declared him dead. The exact cause of his death was yet to be ascertained.
The boy’s parents Harish and Priyanka were informed about his death and they demanded a thorough investigation into the death of their son. The incident has caused a panic among the students at the Gurukul.
