A 42-year-old woman from Boduppal approached police after unidentified persons allegedly harassed her over repayment of a loan taken through the Vardhan app. The callers allegedly sent morphed photographs of her daughter and threatened to post them on social media.

Hyderabad: A woman from Boduppal was allegedly harassed by unidentified persons over the repayment of a loan taken through the Vardhan app, with the accused resorting to threats involving morphed photographs of her daughter.

According to the 42-year-old complaint, she had received phone calls from unidentified persons who claimed that her relative had taken a loan through the app. The callers allegedly demanded that she repay the loan on behalf of her relative.


When she refused or failed to make the payment, the caller allegedly sent morphed photographs of her daughter to her via WhatsApp. They further threatened to post the photographs on social media if the loan amount was not paid.

Shocked by the threats and harassment, the woman approached the police and lodged a complaint.
Based on the complaint, the police are investigating the incident and efforts are underway to identify the persons behind the calls and WhatsApp messages.
