Ameerpet mobile shops booked for selling counterfeit OnePlus, Oppo and Realme back panels

Police have registered a case against several mobile shops in Hyderabad’s Ameerpet for allegedly manufacturing and selling counterfeit OnePlus, Oppo and Realme back panels. Seizure operations yielded over 3,000 suspected fake panels from three shops, police said.

Hyderabad: The SR Nagar police have registered a case against various mobile shops in Ameerpet for allegedly manufacturing, possessing and selling counterfeit back panels of popular smartphone brands including OnePlus, Oppo and Realme.

According to the police, the case was registered on September 1, based on a complaint lodged by Hemanth Sharma, an authorised representative of OnePlus, Oppo and Realme.


Sharma alleged that certain entities operating at Ameerpet, were involved in the unauthorised sale of products bearing identical or substantially similar reproductions of the companies’ intellectual property and product packaging.

During a subsequent seizure operations, police recovered large quantities of suspected counterfeit mobile back panels from several shops in the area.

From Mahadev Mobile Store, police seized 371 counterfeit Realme back panels, 424 counterfeit Oppo back panels and 195 counterfeit OnePlus back panels.

At Shree Ganesh Mobiles, officials seized 360 counterfeit Realme back panels, 368 counterfeit Oppo back panels and 440 counterfeit OnePlus back panels.

Further seizures were made from Durga Telecom, where police recovered 347 counterfeit Realme back panels, 288 counterfeit Oppo back panels and 239 counterfeit OnePlus back panels.

Police said investigation is continuing to establish the source of the products and identify all those allegedly involved in their manufacture, possession and sale.
