Jaipur: A woman was killed and five others were injured after the boundary wall of a house collapsed on them in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district on Monday, police said. The incident occurred in Sikligar Mohalla of Sewar town when the women were passing through a narrow lane between two houses on their way to the market. Sewar SHO Satish Chand said a boundary wall constructed on the terrace of one of the houses suddenly collapsed, trapping six women under the debris.
Locals removed the debris and rushed the women to a hospital in Sewar. They were later referred to RBM Hospital in Bharatpur, where doctors declared one of them dead. The other five are undergoing treatment.
According to the police, a monkey jumping onto the wall is suspected to have triggered the collapse, though the exact cause is being investigated. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, who was in Bharatpur today, visited the hospital and met the injured women.
