Ankushapur village former sarpanch Panduga Srinivas Yadav allegedly attempted suicide by consuming pesticide outside the MPDO office in Tekumatla mandal, Bhupalpally, over Rs 19 lakh in pending bills for development works carried out during his tenure.

Bhupalpally: Upset over delay in the release of pending bills for the works he executed a former sarpanch allegedly attempted suicide in Tekumatla mandal in the district.
In the incident that took place on Saturday evening in Tekumatla, Ankushapur village former sarpanch Panduga Srinivas Yadav consumed pesticide in front of the MPDO office. Bills worth Rs. 19 lakh were pending to be paid to him.
According to him he had carried out various development works in the village during his tenure as sarpanch and incurred debts. The bills related to the works were not released by the State government even as he has been doing rounds of the office for the past several months.
After consuming the pesticide Srinivas Yadav called his family members over phone and explained the matter, they immediately took him to Chityala Community Health Centre for treatment.
