Hyderabad fitness trainer held for alleged job fraud, IPL ticket cheating

Hyderabad: The Lalaguda Police have arrested a fitness trainer for allegedly cheating several people by promising government jobs, IPL tickets and other benefits by claiming to have connections with ministers, senior police officers, government officials and other influential persons.

The suspect has been identified as Bhukya Mohan Lal (35), a resident of Kukatpally and native of Wanaparthy.


According to police, Mohan Lal allegedly promised the complainant eight lounge and ground-floor tickets for a recent IPL match for Rs 1.70 lakh. He reportedly collected Rs 1 lakh in cash but failed to provide the tickets and later avoided the complainant with various excuses.

During the investigation, police allegedly found that the accused had used a similar modus operandi with multiple people. He reportedly collected money by promising jobs such as Police Constable, Postal Department posts, Panchayat Secretary and Group-IV positions, besides IPL tickets and other favours.

Police said Mohan Lal allegedly gained the confidence of victims by claiming that he worked at the Telangana Legislative Secretariat under a minister’s peshi. He was also allegedly carrying an identity card purportedly showing an association with the Secretariat.

Another identity card linked to Defence Laboratories School, mentioning the designation PGT – Physical Education, was also recovered.

Police are investigating whether more people were cheated.
