Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has sought the Centre’s support for the proposed Defence Expo-2026 and the completion of Adilabad and Mamunuru airports during meetings with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu in New Delhi.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy sought the Centre’s support for Telangana’s proposed Defence Expo during a meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Wednesday. He also called on Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu and urged the speedy completion of the Adilabad and Mamunuru airports.
During a meeting, Revanth Reddy invited Rajnath Singh to the Invest Telangana Global Summit-2026 to be held at Bharat Future City on Hyderabad outskirts from December 7 to 9. He also requested him to inaugurate the Defence Expo-2026, as part of the summit. He sought Defence Ministry support for airspace clearances, Indian Air Force participation, and the presence of the Surya Kiran and Sarang aerobatic teams.
He also sought the participation of the Army, Navy and Air Force, defence PSUs including HAL, BEL, BDL and MDL, and DRDO laboratories, besides foreign defence representatives and bilateral delegations.
The Chief Minister expressed readiness to allot 416.18 acres at Devarakadra in Mahabubnagar district for a DRDL project on a 33-year lease at a nominal annual rent of Re 1 for the entire land. The lease could be extended twice if required.
In his meeting with Rammohan Naidu at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, Revanth Reddy requested expedited work pertaining to the proposed Adilabad and Mamunuru airports. He said land acquisition for Mamunuru had been completed and requested a cargo and passenger terminal and MRO facility at Adilabad.
He also sought a joint meeting of the Defence and Civil Aviation Ministries to finalise the Adilabad runway. Rammohan Naidu said tenders for Mamunuru would be invited within two weeks, finalised by December, and foundation work taken up the same month.
The Chief Minister wanted the Centre’s support for heli-tourism in Telangana. Civil Aviation officials said a report on the proposed seaplane landing facility at Hussainsagar would be submitted to the State government within two weeks.
