A 35-year-old man was killed after a crusher-laden truck rammed into a lorry parked on the Medchal ORR during rain. The victim was securing a tarpaulin over the lorry’s plywood load when he was thrown off.

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old man was killed after a heavily loaded truck rammed into a lorry parked on the Outer Ring Road in Medchal on Tuesday.
According to police, the incident occurred around 4 am when the lorry carrying a plywood consignment from Chennai to Miyapur was halted on the roadside due to sudden rain.
The victim, identified as Bihari Rai, was travelling with the lorry. As the rain intensified, Rai climbed onto the vehicle to secure a tarpaulin sheet over the plywood load to prevent it from getting wet.
While he was tying the cover, another truck carrying a heavy load of crusher material allegedly approached from behind at high speed. The truck crashed into the parked lorry, throwing Rai off the vehicle.
He suffered severe head injuries and heavy bleeding in the impact and died on the spot.
Medchal police reached the spot and took up an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the collision, including the speed of the crusher-laden truck and road visibility during the rain.
Police are also examining how the plywood lorry was parked on the ORR and gathering details about the two vehicles involved in the accident.
