Oil prices were trading more than two and a half percent higher after the US attacked Iran’s Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, drawing retaliation from Tehran, as their conflict extended into its sixth month.
Brent crude futures climbed $2.21, or 2.51 percent, to $90.31 a barrel as of 04:36 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate crude was at $85.23, up $1.83, or 2.19 percent, according to Al Jazeera.
