Four pilgrims from Nirmal were killed and seven others injured after their jeep overturned near Thotamba village in Maharashtra’s Nanded district on Monday. The victims were returning from a temple visit when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

Nirmal: In a tragic incident, four pilgrims from the district were killed on the spot, while seven sustained injuries after a jeep in which they were travelling overturned at a curve on a slope of a hillock near Thotamba village in Nanded district of Maharashtra on Monday.
Police said that Thulasiram Patel (28), the jeep driver, Thum Sailu (65), Avula Gangadhar (64) and Thum Gourubai (75), all from Pardi village in Kubheer mandal, received fatal injuries when the driver lost control of the vehicle at the curve.
Seven others sustained minor injuries in the mishap. They were shifted to a hospital in Bhainsa. The condition of one of the injured was said to be critical. The driver reportedly turned off the engine and was coasting along but could not turn it on at the curve, leading to the mishap.
About 15 persons from the village were returning to Kubheer after visiting a temple in Nanded when the mishap happened. A pall of gloom descended over the village following the death of four pilgrims.
