The CRPF’s Second Signal Battalion celebrated its 58th Foundation Day at the Group Centre in Chandrayangutta on Monday. The three-day celebrations featured a mela, cultural programmes, veteran felicitation, a Sainik Sammelan, dinner with veterans and a blood donation camp.

Hyderabad: The Second Signal Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), responsible for providing communication support to formations deployed across southern India, celebrated its 58th Foundation Day at the CRPF Group Centre in Chandrayangutta on Monday.
The battalion was raised on September 1, 1968, at Rampur in Uttar Pradesh and shifted to Hyderabad in 1971. Since then, it has been providing secure and uninterrupted communication services to CRPF formations deployed across several States and union Territories, including the southern States, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Puducherry, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Maharashtra.
The three-day celebrations included a mela with various stalls for jawans and their families, besides cultural programmes showcasing the Force’s unity in diversity. Retired personnel of Signal Battalions residing in and around Hyderabad were also felicitated for their meritorious service.
The felicitation was followed by a Sainik Sammelan and dinner with veterans. A voluntary blood donation camp was also organised, with officers and personnel participating in large numbers.
The battalion reaffirmed its commitment to providing modern and robust communication support during anti-Naxal operations, law-and-order duties, disaster response and elections, while contributing to peace, security and development.
