Siddipet: Former Minister T Harish Rao lashed out at the Congress government, accusing it of not only ignoring the promises made during the election campaign but also halting several schemes launched by the previous BRS government led by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Addressing farmers at Rampur in his constituency on Monday, Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government had stopped the Rythu Bima scheme, the issuance of new old-age pensions, the KCR Kit scheme, manual fertiliser distribution and several other initiatives.
Stating that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy came to power by making false promises, he alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil its promise of providing Rs 2,500 per month to women under the Maha Lakshmi scheme, one tola of gold under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme and several other assurances.
He further said that the implementation of all the schemes would be possible only if Chandrashekhar Rao returned to power.
While participating in a teacher’s retirement programme earlier, Harish Rao said that the government had failed to distribute uniforms to school students even three months after the commencement of the academic year.
He alleged that the Congress government had handed over the contract to a Gujarat-based corporate company, resulting in several issues. He demanded that the government distribute the uniforms immediately.
The former minister participated in multiple programmes in his constituency on Monday.
