Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has put in place a selection structure ahead of the selection of the Hyderabad Under-19 team for the 2026-27 BCCI Vinoo Mankad Trophy (One-Day format).
“Since the One-Day leagues for A-Division and B-Division are yet to be held this season, HCA has introduced an additional layer of selection matches to be played before the Under-19 One-Day Super League. The Under-19 men’s main state team for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2026-27 will be selected after the Super League,” the HCA said in a media release on Friday.
The HCA said 12 teams would be picked by the Junior Selection Committee for the Under-19 category and divided into groups, with each team playing every other team in its group. Each team will play five 50-over matches from August 31 to September 7.
“Players will be selected by the selection committee based on those who were part of state teams in the previous season in the Under-19 category, players who played for the Under-16 state team last year and have crossed the Under-16 age group this season, performers from the Under-16 category, performances in this season’s (2026-27) and last season’s (2025-26) relevant leagues, and TG20 (2026-27),” the release stated.
Following the open trials conducted during May-June 2026 at the Gymkhana Grounds, Round 2 of the HCA Under-19 Men’s One-Day Super League will be held, featuring six teams shortlisted by the Junior Selection Committee. Each team will play five matches.
“The final Under-19 men’s state team for the BCCI Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2026-27 will be picked after the completion of the Super League,” the HCA said.
