The Government Degree College for Women, Begumpet, and CEC, New Delhi, organised an online workshop on MOOCs for academicians. The session focused on digital learning, CEC’s 172 MOOCs for July-December 2026, course structures, credit guidelines and coordinator responsibilities.

Begumpet college hosts CEC workshop to promote MOOCs among academicians

Hyderabad: The Government Degree College for Women, Begumpet, in collaboration with the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi, has recently organized an online workshop on awareness on MOOCs for academicians. The workshop aimed at empowering faculty to integrate digital learning tools into mainstream pedagogy and to strengthen the outreach of CEC’s MOOCs and other digital learning initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, principal, Prof. K Padmavathi emphasized the significance of MOOCs as a futuristic platform and a mechanism for earning additional degree credits. She encouraged students to enroll in MOOCs aligned with their academic interests.


OU CEC-EMRC director Dr. P Raghupathi conducted a session on MOOCs process and development. He briefed about the 172 CEC MOOCs designed for July-December 2026 session and explained course structure, credit guidelines, scalability, accessibility, flexibility and the key responsibilities of course coordinators. As many as 75 academicians, course coordinators and scholars attended the virtual workshop.
