Hyderabad witnessed Milad-un-Nabi celebrations with religious meetings, blood donation camps and the Milad Peace Juloos. Thousands participated in the procession from Charminar, while police deployed special teams, drones, CCTV cameras and camera-mounted vehicles for security and traffic management.

Hyderabad: Muslims across Hyderabad celebrated Milad-un-Nabi, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed. The occasion is observed on the 12th day of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic Hijri calendar.
To mark the occasion, religious meetings were organised at various places across the city. A big public meeting was organised at the Numaish Grounds by the All India Tameer-e-Millat. Several eminent personalities attended the meeting. On the other hand, All India Bazm-e-Rehmat-e-Alam presented Deepak Kumar, popularly known as ‘Muhammad’ Deepak, with the Rehmat-e-Alam Peace Award at a function on Wednesday.
Several socio-religious organisations conducted blood donation camps. The FOCUS organisation is holding a camp at the Asafia Library in Afzalgunj. Blood donation camps are also being held at the Charminar Bus Stand and Vijay Nagar Colony.
The major attraction of the celebrations was the Milad Peace Juloos, a procession that began from Charminar at 1 pm and was flagged off by Charminar MLA Mir Zulfeqar Ali. Thousands of people participated in the procession, which will pass through Charminar, Gulzar Houz, Pathergatti, Madina Building, Nayapul, Darulshifa, Mandi Mir Alam and Alijah Kotla before culminating at Moghalpura.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar welcomed the procession at Charminar in the presence of other senior police officials, including Additional Commissioners Tafseer Iqubal (South Range), M Srinivas (Crimes), and Deputy Commissioners of Police Kiran Kharen (Charminar), Chaitanya Kumar (Detective Department) and Vaibhav Gaikvad (Task Force). Sajjanar said around 2,000 policemen from different wings were deployed to oversee security and traffic management.
Several small processions from different parts joined the main procession. Similar local processions were taken out at Golconda, Borabanda, Erragadda, Sanathnagar, Hafeezpet, Bowenpally and other areas.
The police made elaborate arrangements by deploying special teams and surveillance personnel. Drone-based surveillance, CCTV cameras and camera-mounted vehicles are being used to monitor the procession routes and other sensitive locations.
