CMC flags 38 unauthorised buildings after Anjaiah Nagar collapse

Following the Anjaiah Nagar building collapse, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation enforcement teams identified 38 unauthorised under-construction buildings. Officials served 28 notices, seized one building and demolished nine structures, targeting construction violations on plots below and above 75 square yards.

CMC flags 38 unauthorised buildings after Anjaiah Nagar collapse

Hyderabad: In the wake of the building collapse at Anjaiah Nagar, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) enforcement teams on Monday identified 38 unauthorised under-construction buildings.

Following the instruction of the CMC Commissioner, G Srijana, and as part of the enforcement action, 28 UC notices were served, one building was seized, and nine buildings were demolished


The enforcement action is focused on plots below 75 sq yards where under-construction buildings exceed 7 metres in height, and on plots above 75 sq yards, under-construction buildings constructed without building permission, irrespective of the height.

Cases were being identified through citizen complaints as well as suo motu field inspections, with daily monitoring of enforcement action as directed by the Commissioner.
