The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials in Hyderabad caught a Chandanagar sub-inspector and a constable red-handed while allegedly accepting a Rs 75,000 bribe in a criminal case.

Chandanagar SI, Constable held in bribery case

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Saturday caught a Chandanagar police Sub-Inspector and a constable red-handed while allegedly accepting a Rs 75,000 bribe in connection with a criminal case.

The officials have been identified as B Balraj, SI and B Raghavendra Kumar, constable.


According to the ACB, the duo allegedly demanded money from the complainant for conducting the investigation and filing the chargesheet.

The ACB also found that Rs 20,000 had allegedly been received earlier by the SI in cash, while the constable had allegedly received Rs 10,000 through UPI, taking the alleged total bribe to Rs 1.05 lakh.

Further investigation is underway.
