Hanamkonda: An incident involving the finding of a dead body of a woman in the trunk of an abandoned car at Elkathurthy mandal headquarters in the district has caused a stir locally.
The locals who noticed a foul smell from the car, which was parked near the RTC bus stand for the past couple of days, informed the local police. The police visited the spot, sent the body for a post-mortem examination and initiated an investigation.
Based on an Aadhaar card found at the scene, the deceased woman was identified as Ankiti Manasa (33) of Centenary Colony in Godavarikhani of Peddapalli district. They traced the car to a software employee, Milkuri Vinod of Karimnagar.
According to sources, Vinod reportedly told the police that Manasa died after she suffered a seizure while they were in a room in Karimnagar and that he abandoned the body in the car out of fear.
On the other hand, Manasa’s parents were said to have accused Vinod of killing the woman, who they said was taken from her house three days ago by him. Warangal Central Zone DCP Dara Kavitha, Kazipet ACP Prashanth Reddy and others visited the spot on Friday to take stock of the situation.
