Wanaparthy MLA Megha Reddy demands suspension of Chinna Reddy

Hyderabad: Wanaparthy MLA Tudi Megha Reddy has complained against State Planning Board Vice Chairman G Chinna Reddy to the party high command and sought stern action against him.

Megha Reddy, along with his supporters, met AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi on Friday and submitted a representation to him. Megha Reddy said Kharge responded positively and directed his office to submit a report on the issue.

“He has made objectionable comments against the party. We demanded that Chinna Reddy should be suspended from the party,” Megha Reddy told media persons.

He said all the evidence had been submitted to the TPCC Disciplinary Committee. The committee has served a show-cause notice on Chinna Reddy and sought his reply, he added.

Meanwhile, Chinna Reddy’s supporters staged a protest at Gandhi Bhavan and demanded that the Disciplinary Committee withdraw the notice. They said Chinna Reddy had served the party for 48 years and had never violated its disciplinary code.

“Many loyal Congress workers in Wanaparthy are being denied posts, benefits and opportunities and are being discriminated against. Chinna Reddy spoke about this discrimination and the hardships faced by loyal workers,” a supporter of Chinna Reddy said.

Another leader said it would be unfair to question Chinna Reddy’s commitment and loyalty to the party.
