Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday extended his party’s support to the statewide agitation by polytechnic students against GO MS No 97 and demanded that the Congress government withdraw the order immediately. He also criticised the alleged police action against students during peaceful protests at some places, urging the government not to violate their rights.
In a statement, Rama Rao said the decision had left the future of thousands of polytechnic students uncertain. “Do not play with the lives of polytechnic students,” he said, insisting that the government reconsider the decision and withdraw GO 97.
He said BRS student wing leaders and party leaders had already participated in several protests and extended solidarity to the students. The party would continue to support their agitation in every possible manner, he added.
