Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS leader T Harish Rao was placed under house arrest at his residence in Kokapet on Wednesday, with a heavy police deployment kept outside his house.
Harish Rao had earlier announced that he would visit the Sanathnagar TIMS hospital.
Police officials said the house arrest was as part of a preventive measure to avoid any untoward incident during his proposed visit.
The development comes amid a political dispute between the ruling Congress and the BRS over the Sanathnagar TIMS hospital.
The BRS has alleged that most of the works on the hospital had already been completed during the previous BRS government and accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy merely inaugurated the project by cutting the ribbon.
