Hyderabad: Devotees in large numbers participated in the 29th Grand Ganga Jal Kawad Yatra organised by Bhagyanagar Kawad Seva Sangh Hyderabad-Secunderabad on Sunday.
The yatra with devotees carrying the holy water in the auspicious month of Shravan commenced around 6.30 am from Mahadev Mandir, Charminar and headed to Shri Uma Maheshwari Swami Devasthanam,Saroonagar.
Kanwariyas in saffron clothes of all age groups and women in large numbers joined the yatra carrying the holy water in kanwars, the pole balanced on shoulders. The water then on reaching Uma Maheshwari Swami temple was used to perform ‘jalabhishek’ , the ritual bathing of Shivling.
