Hyderabad: New-age crime comedy ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’, produced by Chitralayam Studios, is set to hit theatres on October 9, coinciding with the Dussehra festive season.
Directed by Guni Manikanti and produced by Venu Donepudi, the film brings together crime, comedy and eccentric characters in a story filled with unexpected situations. Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, Subhalekha Sudhakar, George Maryan, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oi, Karthikeya, Vismayasri, Malvi Malhotra, Raja Ravindra and others play key roles.
The film has the distinction of being the first South Indian film to be shot entirely in Meghalaya. The team travelled across several parts of the northeastern State for the shoot, capturing its natural landscapes and scenic locations, including Cherrapunji.
The teaser, released earlier, introduced the film’s quirky characters and offered glimpses of the unusual situations that form the core of the story. Its fast-paced treatment, comic elements and unexpected twists generated curiosity among audiences.
The makers have now begun the film’s musical promotions with the release of the first lyrical song, ‘Aaja Meri Jaani’. Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad launched the track and congratulated the team on its unique concept. He also appreciated the song’s energetic and youthful vibe and wished the film’s team success.
Featuring Akshay Lagusani and Vishnu Oi, ‘Aaja Meri Jaani’ is presented as a lively party number with vibrant visuals and energetic performances. Electronic Kili and Anand (Arkado) have composed the music, while Kittu Vissapragada penned the lyrics. Benny Dayal has provided the vocals.
Producer Venu Donepudi said the film is centred on an interesting incident and that post-production activities are nearing completion. He added that shooting the entire film in Meghalaya was a memorable experience for the team and gave the movie a distinctive visual identity.
The makers are now gearing up for a grand theatrical release of ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ during the Dussehra festive season.
