Officials in Sangareddy have sanctioned a Rs 2.90 crore bridge to connect Gairan Thanda in Sirgapur mandal, following a Telangana Today report highlighting the village’s isolation. Collector Prateek Jain and MLA Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy assured villagers that the project will be completed before the next monsoon.

Sangareddy: Officials have decided to build a bridge across the stream to provide road connectivity to Gairan Thanda in Sirgapur mandal, following a news report published by Telangana Today recently.
The bridge will be built with Rs 2.90 crore outlay. Earlier, it was proposed to build the bridge with one vent to ensure the flow of the stream. However, they have decided to double the vents and issue the tenders.
Since another stream was also blocking the way to this tribal village, the officials started the works to build the bridge across the stream on Friday. Following the news published in these columns, Collector Prateek Jain announced that Rs 10 to Rs 20 lakh will be granted as immediate relief to build a road across the 300 meter stretch over the small stream. However, the high level bridge will be built with a Rs 2.90 crore budget across the big stream.
MLA Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy, Deputy Collector Narayankhed N Umaharathi and engineering officials visited the village on Friday. They inspected both the streams and interacted with the villagers to know about the issue exactly. Elated by the response, the villagers led by Sarpanch V Mohan felicitated the MLA and Deputy Collector.
They urged the officials to complete the bridge works before the onset of next monsoon. During every monsoon, the streams were restricting even the students from going to school and colleges. Even the sick and injured persons could not even travel to the hospitals. MLA Sanjeeva Reddy promised to complete the works before the next rainy season.
