Hyderabad: Senior actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has urged people to stay alert against online scams, sharing his own experience of being targeted by cyber fraudsters during a cyber-awareness programme organised by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) on Friday.
Nagarjuna was the chief guest at the ‘Suraksha Ka Tiranga’ cyber-awareness initiative, where he urged people to remain vigilant while dealing with unknown calls, messages and online investment offers.
Recounting an incident from around four years ago, the actor said he was approached by a person claiming to be associated with a bank about an investment opportunity that could have made him a target of online fraud.
He also narrated an incident involving a relative in Iran where fraudsters allegedly posed as police officials and claimed drugs had been discovered in the relative’s baggage.
The actor said he takes digital security seriously and regularly changes his passwords. He advised the public not to share sensitive information or respond impulsively to suspicious calls and online requests.
