Medak: Narsapur police seized some 350 quintals of public distribution system (PDS) rice while it was being transported to Gondia in neighbouring Maharashtra state. Following a tip-off from vigilance officials, the civil supplies officials and Narsapur police stopped the vehicle near Narsapur on August 7. However, they could not get accurate information until Thursday. After obtaining all the details, the police registered a case. The rice was kept in a local rice mill.
