A 46-year-old shepherd, Parsavena Raju, drowned after slipping into a flooded stream while taking his sheep across it at Boyinpet in Manthani town. His daughter Alekhya raised an alarm and was rescued, while Raju’s body was later recovered

Peddapalli: A 46-year-old shepherd drowned in a flooding stream while crossing it with his sheep at Boyinpet in Manthani town on Wednesday.
Police said that Parsavena Raju from Boyinpet met a watery grave after slipping in a stream while crossing it with his sheep. He, along with his daughter Alekhya, was taking their sheep to the other side of the stream when the mishap took place. Alekhya raised an alarm to save the life of her father, but in vain. She was rescued by one Ankam Shekhar.
Alekhya was shifted to a hospital in Manthani. The body of Raju was recovered from the stream and was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered. Investigations got underway.
