According to a report published by an informed military source, widespread dissatisfaction among the crew over the extended deployment and poor living conditions aboard the carrier led to a confrontation among personnel. The report says seven crew members were killed and several others injured in the incident.
The USS Abraham Lincoln, a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, left its homeport in San Diego in November 2025 and entered the U.S. Central Command area of operations in late January 2026. On January 26, it arrived in the Middle East alongside several U.S. destroyers and was deployed to the Arabian Sea.
The Lincoln’s deployment was therefore part of the U.S. military posture aimed at increasing offensive capabilities and supporting military operations against Iran
